I love adventures, and I try to travel in unusual ways to unique places, like hitchhiking and trekking through Glacier National Park. I studied in Madagascar because of its biodiversity and conservation challenges.
I also earned an M.B.A. with a focus sustainable business practices, and I love reading science journals and historical fiction. I'm becoming a YouTube-trained DIYer, with tiling, wiring and appliance repairs under my belt.
With a daughter named Sunny as my inspiration, I enjoy working to make Portland an incredible place to live. I've founded several community groups to bring people together to explore social and environmental responsibility. I served the Portland Area Business Association and wrote a financial advice column in a women’s journal for several years. I'm featured on the news as a local mortgage expert. I've won several grants and led my neighbors in creating a community garden on a weedy hillside and a message
board (with a living roof!) at our park. I love foraging for edible plants and designing gardens. I'm also a big supporter of the Raphael House of Portland.
